This tool runs entirely inside your browser. Your files are never uploaded, never stored, and never seen by anyone but you.
How to watermark a PDF
- Drop your PDF onto the page.
- Type the text you want — or switch to Image and pick a logo or a signature.
- Set the size, colour, transparency and angle. The preview is the finished page, not an impression of it.
- Add the watermark, then download.
Once per page, or repeated?
Once per page puts a single mark wherever you choose — a logo in a corner, a status stamp across the middle. Repeated tiles it over the whole page, which is much harder to crop out and is what a "do not copy" mark is usually for.
Is the watermark permanent?
It is drawn into each page's content, not added as an annotation, so it survives printing, flattening and most conversions. It is not, however, security: anyone determined enough can edit a PDF. Treat a watermark as a clear statement of intent rather than a lock.
Why can't I type in my own alphabet?
Text watermarks use the fonts every PDF reader already has built in, which keeps the file small and guarantees it renders anywhere. Those fonts only cover the Latin alphabet. If your text needs other characters, the tool says so before you run it — and an image watermark made from a screenshot of the text works for any script.
Rotated and mixed-size pages
Position is worked out against the page as you see it, so "bottom right" is the bottom right of the page on screen even when the page is stored sideways — which is common in scans. Each page is measured on its own, so a document that mixes A4 and letter, portrait and landscape, still gets its marks in the right place.
Limits
One file at a time, up to 300 MB, and images up to 20 MB. PNG and JPEG logos are embedded as they are; WebP, AVIF, GIF and BMP are converted to PNG first, which is lossless.
